Boren Alumni Named Marshall Scholar Zachary Smith, a 2010 Boren Alumni, was recently awarded a Marshall Scholarship. A music and political science major at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Zachary recieved a Boren Scholarship to study in Jordan. As a Marshall Scholar, he plans to attend the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London to earn masters' degrees in Middle East politics and Islamic societies and culture. Elena Shomos is a senior at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a 2011 Boren Scholar. She is majoring in French and international studies and, on September 5th, she left for Albania.
