David L. Boren Awards for International Study

Dhamma Dana (The Gift of Dhamma), a documentary filmed by Theodore Martland while on independent study during Antioch Education Abroad's Buddhist Studies in India program, won "Best Domestic Documentary" at the 2009 Queens International Film Festival in New York City!  There were over 1000 submissions in the competition and 36 documentaries were submitted by United States filmmakers. Theodore Martland was the only young filmmaker to win an award outside the Young Filmmaker category.  He filmed it entirely in Myanmar (Burma) while on independent study during the 2008 Antioch Buddhist Studies in India Program.
