Erin Dittmer, a School of Nursing student at Vanderbilt University, has been awarded a Boren Fellowship to study in China.
Erin has a solid understanding of Chinese and plans to focus on improving her medical vocabulary while on her Boren Fellowship. "I was living in China when SARS broke out, and seeing how that was handled was part of my interest into going into health care," said Erin. "With health issues like that, even with H1N1, you can see how it affects relationships between countries, and our countries need to be able to collaborate and control the spread of disease.”
Erin was recently profiled by the Reporter, Vaderbilt University Medical Center's Weekly Newspaper.
