David L. Boren Awards for International Study

Amanda-Cristina "Cris" Gonzalez, a junior at Sweet Briar College in Virginia, has received a Boren Scholarship.  Cris is a government major and law and society minor. 

Cris started her Boren Scholarship application early, giving her time to submit multiple drafts to the NSEP on-campus committee.  The committee challenged her to focus her proposal, articulate her interest in U.S.-Vietnam security, and set clear, accomplishable goals.  All of their hard worked paid off.  Chris will spend the 2010-2011 academic year studying at Vietnam National University.
