David L. Boren Awards for International Study

Kimberly Everett of the University of Alabama at Birmingham is the first student from this institution to receive a Boren Fellowship. She will use this award to research the effects of Chinese direct investment on the sisal industry in Tanzania. Kimberly also received the Boren Scholarship to study for a year in China as an undergraduate. She hopes to join the State Department's Foreign Service upon graduation.
