David L. Boren Awards for International Study

The University at Buffalo has its first Boren recipient. Sarah Boerschig, a sophomore majoring in history and Asian studies, will be studying at Kanazawa University in Japan. Her interest in Japan stems from a global history teacher in 10th grade, a friend who introduced her to anime, and books on haikus. In the future, Sarah hopes to work in the State Department and help solve international conflicts.
