About Eric:
Eric Sanderson was a 2017 Boren Scholar to Latvia where he studied Russian. Following his Boren program, Eric worked as a John Kerry Fellow, where he regularly briefed the former Secretary of State on European political and economic affairs. Eric graduated from Yale University with a Bachelor's in International Affairs and later fulfilled his service requirement as a Special Warfare Officer in the U.S. Air Force. He currently works as a Tactical Air Control Party Officer, a position he’s held since 2020. In this position, he completed a rotation to Poland in early 2023.
"The Boren experience made the regional history and politics I studied more personal and greatly improved my understanding of the region beyond textbook knowledge. The experience humbled me, exposing how many years of work it takes to be an "expert" of a region foreign to one's own."
