About JQ:
JQ was a 2017 Boren Scholar to China where he studied Mandarin. After graduating from Boston University where he received his Bachelor's in Economics, JQ fulfilled his service requirement through a year-long internship with the Department of Defense where he continues to serve the U.S. government.
"I realized just how important the Boren program is for recruiting and bringing in talented, passionate, and culturally educated individuals to the government sphere--at least in the field of national security. Boren's ability to place those passionate individuals into strategically important countries only improved the depth and technical expertise of government officers. My experience in China has exposed crucially important factors that not many people in my industry are able to speak on -- mostly because how closed off the education environment is not to officers in my field."
